I previously worked in the IT industry for 17 years, landing my ‘dream job’ at Microsoft in Reading in 2014. Slowly the realities of working for a global business set in, I was a very small fish in a very big pond and making any kind of impact was met with red tape and bureaucratic nonsense.

I have always had ‘back issues’ and saw a chiropractor regularly myself. I was always interested in the neurological benefits to chiropractic and intrigues to learn more.

At the age of 29, I decided that I would undertake the Integrated bachelor’s degree in health sciences and master’s in chiropractic, which was offered as a part time course at a college in Abingdon, Oxford. Being a part-time degree meant that I could carry on working full time (to pay the bills, and for the degree!) but it was a 5.5-year course, which seemed rather daunting at the time!

During the Covid pandemic my role changed to ‘Work from Home’ and so I decided to move back up North to fresh air and the lovely village of Holmfirth and I transferred to the McTimoney Manchester cohort for my final 2 years.

I graduated in 2021 and started working from a room at Root Pilates in New Mill, Holmfirth to build and grow my practise. In April 2024 I moved to a beautiful central Holmfirth clinic where I grew the business and in September 2026 I have gone full circle and am back in New Mill at the NEW Root Studio with my good friends Mavra and Sam with a much bigger clinic (3 x treatment rooms and a lovely reception area!) and pet FISH!!

Sean Parker-Perry

Sean is also qualified in the gentle McTimoney Chiropractic technique. Known as "chiropractic without the crack noise," this approach is ideal for patients of all ages, particularly children and the elderly. Sean is also trained in the more common 'diversified' technique which many people associate with the traditional 'crack'.

As a husband and father of two young boys, Sean is deeply committed to supporting families. His special interest in paediatrics stems from his dedication to caring for mums, whom he considers the most important people in the world. Being autistic himself, and as the father of a young autistic son, Sean brings a unique understanding and empathy to his practice. His Master's dissertation explored the impact of chiropractic care on autistic speech, reflecting his commitment to advancing care for neurodivergent individuals.

Archie Brigg

Sports Therapist

I am a Sports Therapist with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy from Leeds Beckett University, driven by a deep passion for helping individuals recover from injury and return to optimal function. My interest in rehabilitation stems from personal experience—having played rugby from a young age, I was unfortunately forced to step away from the sport due to recurring shoulder injuries. However, this experience sparked my dedication to supporting others through their own recovery journeys.

I will be available in the New Mill clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, offering injury assessment and rehabilitation, as well as sports massage and dry cupping therapy.

During my time at university, I completed a clinical placement with the Huddersfield Giants professional rugby league team. This provided me with valuable hands-on experience working in a high-performance environment, where I supported players in their recovery from injury and contributed to their return-to-play strategies.

Outside of the clinic, I am passionate about health and fitness. I enjoy staying active through regular gym training and outdoor activities. I also have a strong interest in sport, particularly golf, which I play recreationally.

Rebecca Georgiou

Holistic Massage Therapist

Rebecca is a qualified holistic massage therapist with a deep passion for supporting others on their journey to balance and well-being. Her approach is rooted in the belief that the mind, body and spirit are deeply interconnected.

With a calm, intuitive presence, she will create a safe and nurturing space where healing and relaxation can naturally unfold. Rebecca is there to help you with physical tension, emotional stress or simply to achieve a moment of stillness. She is here to help you reconnect with yourself and restore harmony from within.

Rebecca will be working on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the New Mill clinic

Jack Marsden

MSK Physiotherapist BSc (Hons) MCSP

I qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of Salford and have since dedicated my work to the NHS and private clinics in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics.

In my daily practice I diagnose acute injuries, assess pre/post operative patients, treat chronic pain and long-term conditions with an evidence-based approach.

My clinic will be available Thursday evenings and Saturdays, providing bespoke assessments, treatments and manual therapies such as massage and mobilisations to reduce pain, recover from injury and restore full function.

In my extended scope, I am a level 3 qualified sport massage therapist as well as involved in audit and research within the NHS.

Outside of work, my interests lie in the countryside of Holmfirth, where I regularly go swimming with friends and family. I also play competitive squash in local leagues.
